PURE GRAFFITI. What do you like the most and least about “graffiti” culture?

KEANE. I love the trains and track sites motorways and all other sort of public transport clean pieces and concept walls are the real deal. Meeting people. The jams.. The list is long
What don’t like is tagging around towns. its some split mind shit ! some days I am out there killing it whit tha fat cap tags some days its makes me sick looking at.

PURE GRAFFITI. What crew(s) are you in?

KEANE. CCTV (Cork.Citys.Top.Vamdals)

keaner3

PURE GRAFFITI. What is Graffiti all about to you?

KEANE. It’s a big part of my life always busy whit it Its either organizing paint looking for spots catching flicks doing walls out on a mission checking mags …and so on any writer knows what’s up.

PURE GRAFFITI. What do you think about writers who are out for fame?

KEANE.This is what graffiti is all about the more you sweet the more you will get. I have nothing against does who are just up for fame but it isnt the only important thing to me I still g out and do my spots but throw on a good spot isnt as much as important to me then a dope piece beside the tracks for its the style it was done in what matters.

PURE GRAFFITI. Do you think Graffiti these days all looks the same?

KEANE.Not really there its the opposite there so many guys out there rocking there pieces. Many different styles graffiti is developing over the years like any other art form.

PURE GRAFFITI. Do you see yourself doing graffiti 10 years from now?

KEANE. Sure.. Its hard to say whats up in 10 years but I hope for the best and keep up the flame over the next few years and keep doing my thing as longest it’s fun too me.

PURE GRAFFITI. Ever been caught?

Yes I been getting snitched by one of my old crew members before. That was the reason for leaving the Rsa crew I use to be signs 2003. Yeah shit sucks 3000€ fine in 2001 other then that I always manage to get away with it!!

PURE GRAFFITI. How do you feel about train-writing?

KEANE.There some dope panels down in Germany unfortunately
There is not much off a train writing scene down here in
Ireland but I would love hitting one soon.

keaner4

PURE GRAFFITI. Does your family and friends know that you paint?

KEANE.My family knows because I been getting busted.. Before otherwise I would have keep it my secret so far I only have shared it whit my closest friends the less people know about it the less hustle I have for my self. s

PURE GRAFFITI. What are your favorite spray paint colors? favorite Brand Paint?

KEANE.For pieces I like a mix off different brands Mostly I use Spanish Montana and Belton Molotow and Montana Alien are nice for details. For tags and throws I like bombers best and Belton high pressure. Belton is best outline can ironlak & mtn for fills.

PURE GRAFFITI. How did you develop such good technical painting and drawing skills? What can the rest of us do to sharpen our own?

KEANE.There is not much that could help anyone out when it comes to painting that is something needs practice and will pick up by it self after a good hand full of pieces.. I have been getting good use full tips from experience writers to work on simple strait letter pieces and sketches and try different techniques when it comes to painting and sketching my ass off daily painting as much as I can.

keaner5
PURE GRAFFITI. What other media do you work in besides spray paint? How do you feel about using airbrushes?

KEANE. I have never tried any but there is some remarkable talents out there its not the right thing to me because i prefer getting my stuff up in paint because I like to have a decent size for a piece all that fine line stuff is something for the galleries

PURE GRAFFITI. What are your feelings about more experienced writers reffering to younger learning writers as “TOYS”?

KEANE.Everyone started off as toy its a change arent that happen offer night its fair beginners are called toy to separate them strait a away from decent writers who have pulled more time effort and money in to there carrier

PURE GRAFFITI. If you could teach or tell the kids something, what would it be?

KEANE. The usual shit I guess respect the old school get your knowledge together and stay off the burners with your stupid markers and better recognize who your going over!

seeing your name squiggled on a wall that took someone else hours to paint and will take someone else ages to repaint annoys the crap out of me.it is not skill. it is not art.
