Graffiti Art Show @ 1:AM SF Gallery on September 11th from 7 – 10pm “Don’t Sweat the Technique: Ode to the Spraycan” hosted with Montana Colors North America and Estria

1:AM SF gallery and Estria are committed to providing a positive outlet for people who want to enrich their lives creatively through street art.  True to their dedication, they, along with Montana Colors North America, present “Don’t Sweat the Technique: Ode to the Spraycan”, an art gallery exhibition celebrating aerosol art.   This groundbreaking collaboration is unprecedented and gives fans and those curious about urban arts a window into the culture on a national level.

For the past five months, Estria Invitational Graffiti Battle (EIGB) has been holding competitions across the nation searching for someone to reign supreme with their aerosol skills.  The finals are here in the Bay Area.  Before concluding this journey, Estria wanted to kick off the finals in style and invited the talented participants to showcase their impressive and innovative art at 1:AM gallery. They will be paying tribute to their choice of art tool, the spraycan.  The killer line up includes:

California:  Neon, Bounce, Chez, Vogue, Eon 75, Germz, Vyal, Refa, Natrl

Chicago:  Rome, Tsel, Exhaust, Melon, Debl, Like

Hawai’i:  Katch, Estria, Eukarezt, Ckaweeks, Prime

New York:  Wane One, Doves, Cern, Queen Andrea, Cekis

Whether you are a newbie or veteran to street art, this is the show to educate yourself in the art of the spraycan.  The heavy hitters are here to add some color to your walls and flavor to your sketchbooks.

Opening reception is on September 11th from 7 – 10pm. DJ Don Kainoa, Spinnerty, and Bozak will be dropping the beats.  This is a 21+ event.  Exhibition will run through October 9th.  And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the EIGB finals, as part of the Living Word Festival, on October 10th in Oakland!

The Estria Invitational Graffiti Battle (EIGB) is a national urban art competition that honors and advances creativity in the hip-hop arts. Partnered with Youth Speaks, EIGB is a part of the Life Is Living Festival.  The goals of the battle is to promote public visual art as a positive alternative for youth from the hardships of inner city life and to promote gender, racial and class equality in hip-hop.  EIGB helps the general public understand graffiti as the most impacting visual art form, having gone worldwide in less than 20 years.
