Talib Kweli “Eardrum”
Talib Kweli’s New Album Ear Drum has out-sold Swizz Beats’ One Man Band album this week. The Conscious HipHop Album landed at No.2 on the Billboard 200 after moving 60,000 units in its 1st week according to Nielson’s Soundscan.
This is certainly a big statement in terms of conscious HipHop which is often cannot compete marketing wise with the major label commercial release budgets. Similarly Common’s Finding Forever reached in the top three in its debut week.
Brooklnite Kweli has diversified on this album to include producer’s such as Wil.I.Am, Hi-Tek, Kwame, Madlib, Kanye West and Just Blaze as well as groundbreaking guest spots from Norah Jones, UGK and Justin Timberlake.
The singles from Ear Drum are “Listen!!” prod. by Kwame and “More or Less” prod.by Hi-Tek. The album is outnow through Blacksmith Music/ Warner Bros.
